U.S. President Donald Trump "showed serious interest" in deploying ground forces in Iran, NBC reported, citing three American sources and one other source involved in the discussions.
According to the report, Trump discussed the idea of deploying forces with his aides and also with Republicans outside the White House, as he outlines his vision for the "day after" the war with Iran. The American network clarified that Trump is not considering a broad ground invasion of Iran, but rather a more limited deployment of forces "for specific strategic purposes," and that in the private discussions he held, no decision was made and no directive on the matter is known. White House spokeswoman Caroline Leavitt denied the report.
