Columbia University administration representatives met with Trump administration officials at the White House to finalize details of an agreement that would restore most of the federal funding frozen since last March.
According to reports, the draft includes a $200 million fine to be allocated for compensation arrangements for Jewish students and faculty, or those who "suffered from conditions of affirmative action."
The agreement also includes a commitment from the university to publish admission and recruitment data, but does not require structural changes or restrictions on demonstrations. Republican figures and conservative Jewish organizations claim this represents a major concession from the administration.
