Israeli Ambassador to the United States Michael Leiter addressed the shooting in Washington, DC, and linked the global rise in antisemitism to Western nations' actions against Israel.
"Antisemitism is rising not because of Israel's response, but because of countries like France, which under these circumstances plan to propose unilateral recognition of a Palestinian state tomorrow," he said.
"The French, with their distorted morality under President Emmanuel Macron, are going to declare October 7 as Palestinian Independence Day. This is a severe moral distortion. They should be ashamed of themselves."
