Sirens sounded across a wide stretch of Israel on Wednesday evening, from Tel Aviv south to Ashdod and Ashkelon, as Hezbollah resumed fire from Lebanon, sending residents rushing to shelters.
The latest alerts came only hours after repeated barrages from Iran and Lebanon set off nonstop sirens across central Israel, with warnings also issued in the Golan Heights and the Dead Sea area.
Fire and rescue teams were dispatched earlier to several sites in central Israel after interception fragments and debris were reported in Tel Aviv, Ramat Gan, Petah Tikva and Rosh HaAyin, though Magen David Adom said there were no immediate reports of injuries.
In that earlier wave, loud explosions were also heard in the Haifa area and Upper Galilee as Hezbollah rocket fire came in from Lebanon, while authorities said the launches appeared to land in open areas.

The IDF said at the same time that it had identified missiles launched from Iran toward Israel and that air defense systems were operating to intercept them.
It said most of the Iranian missiles were intercepted, though one apparently carried an internationally banned cluster munition warhead.

At the same time, the military said the Israeli Air Force had begun a broad wave of strikes on dozens of Iranian regime targets in the heart of Tehran while continuing to intercept threats from multiple fronts. Iranian media reported repeated explosions in western Tehran.
Military officials said the latest Iranian fire toward central Israel included a relatively high number of single-missile launches compared with recent days, triggering repeated sirens and forcing many Israelis to remain in shelters for extended periods.
