Israel's ambassador to the United States, Yechiel Leiter, called the J Street organization "a cancer in the Jewish community." Leiter, who spoke at a National Task Force for Combating Antisemitism conference at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, claimed that "the worst thing about J Street is that it is two-faced. How can you be pro-Israel and promote an arms embargo on a country fighting a war on seven fronts against Iran's proxies?" Leiter's remarks were made against the backdrop of J Street's decision to promote a gradual cessation of military aid grants to Israel starting in 2028.
