US Central Command (CENTCOM) forces eliminated a senior ISIS official, Omar Abdul Qader, in Syria, who was planning attacks against American targets. The command's statement said that the purpose of the operation conducted today was to thwart terrorist actions against the US and its allies. CENTCOM commander Admiral Brad Cooper praised the forces that participated in the operation and said that "the US will not cease pursuing terrorists who threaten its citizens."
