California professor who threatened Israeli journalists will not be fired

A lecturer and faculty member at the University of California, Davis (UCD) has been suspended without pay for an academic quarter following a tweet she posted on X network several days after the October 7 massacre, in which she threatened Israeli and Jewish journalists. She also implied that their families could be targeted.
The lecturer, Prof. Jemma de-Cristo, who identifies as transgender, will also not teach in the current quarter - but remains employed by the university after claiming her comments were satire. De-Cristo wrote three days after the Hamas attack: "One group of people we have easy access to in the US is all these Zionist journalists spreading propaganda and false information. They may be afraid of their bosses, but they need to be more afraid of us." She ended the tweet with knife, axe and blood drop emojis.
