New York buildings illuminated in green to mark Muslim Heritage Month

|
For the first time in its history, New York State illuminated 16 national sites in green light to mark American-Muslim Heritage Month. The World Trade Center tower, built on the ruins of the Twin Towers, was also illuminated. The gesture came a day after Zohran Mamdani took office as New York's first Muslim mayor. Governor Kathy Hochul said in a statement: "The resilience, compassion and contribution of Muslim communities help make our state stronger."
