Biden extends US national emergency with Iran for another year

U.S. President Joe Biden announced on Friday the extension of the national emergency with Iran, initially declared in 1979, for another year.
In a letter to congressional leaders, Biden emphasized that, despite ongoing efforts to normalize relations, the U.S. and Iran have yet to fully resolve their differences.
He also confirmed that the 1981 Algiers Accords, signed to address the nations' prolonged crisis, would remain in effect.
