The United States announced it has reached a trade agreement with China following two days of intensive talks in Geneva. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said details of the agreement will be revealed at a press conference tomorrow. U.S. Trade Representative Ambassador Jamison Greer said the understandings were reached quickly 'because the gaps were not as deep as thought,' adding that the negotiations were aimed at addressing the U.S. trade deficit with China – $1.2 trillion – which led President Trump to declare an emergency and impose heavy tariffs. The agreement is expected to lead to mutual reduction of tariffs.
