The Pentagon will order approximately 3,000 additional U.S. troops to be sent to the Middle East "in the coming hours," the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday, citing two U.S. officials.
The troops are part of the 82nd Airborne Division’s combat brigade, the Army’s emergency response force able to reach anywhere in the world within 18 hours, potentially supporting an attack on Iran’s Kharg Island.
