ISIS supporter who planned to bomb New York State Capitol in Albany arrested

The FBI thwarted a terror plot by an ISIS supporter to bomb the New York State Capitol in Albany and harm lawmakers. According to a criminal complaint filed today, Jessica Bowei, 35, an Albany resident who converted to Islam about five years ago, pledged allegiance to the terror organization and planned the attack for weeks. She conducted surveillance around the Capitol, purchased materials to prepare an explosive device and even discussed the possibility of disguising the bomb inside a DoorDash food delivery bag. According to court documents, Bowei communicated with an FBI source posing as an ISIS operative and asked for his assistance in preparing explosives. Yesterday, she met with law enforcement sources who provided her with a disabled explosive device and a gun, and shortly thereafter she was arrested.
