The two victims killed in the attack outside the Israeli embassy in Washington were a young couple who were about to get engaged.
Ambassador Yechiel Leiter revealed that the young man had purchased a ring this week, planning to propose to his partner next week in Jerusalem.
"They were a beautiful couple who came to enjoy an evening in Washington's cultural center," he said. Leiter added that he spoke with President Donald Trump, who assured him his administration would do everything possible to fight antisemitism and end the hatred, incitement and delegitimization directed at Israel.
