More than 20% of appointees to New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani's transition team have a documented history of sharing or publishing anti-Israel messages, with some using antisemitic tropes or justifying the October 7 massacre.
This is according to a report published by the Jewish organization Anti-Defamation League, which examined more than 400 appointments announced in November.
According to the report, Kazi Fouzia, who was appointed to the Worker Justice Committee, wrote one day after the massacre that "resistance is justified when people are under occupation." Another appointee to the same committee, Mohammad Karim Chowdhury, shared a post claiming Zionists are worse than Nazis.
