Defense Minister Israel Katz announced that "Israel has launched a preemptive strike against Iran." He declared a special and immediate state of emergency across the entire country.
"The State of Israel has launched a preemptive strike against Iran to remove threats against the State of Israel," he said in a statement.
"As a result, a missile and drone attack against the State of Israel and its civilian population is expected in the immediate timeframe. Therefore, and in accordance with his authority under the Civil Defense Law, Defense Minister Israel Katz has now signed a special order imposing a special state of emergency on the home front throughout the entire territory of the State of Israel."
