Trump meets with Arab leaders on sidelines of UN General Assembly: 'Want to end Gaza war'

U.S. President Donald Trump met with Arab and Muslim leaders on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, including representatives from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Turkey, Pakistan, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Jordan. Trump told reporters before the meeting, which he repeatedly called his "most important meeting," that "we want to end the war in Gaza. We are going to end it. Maybe we can end it now." Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff are also participating in the meeting. Axios reported before the meeting that it would focus not only on ending the war and releasing the hostages, but also on American plans for an Israeli withdrawal from Gaza as part of a future agreement and on the nature of governance on "the day after."
