The administration of U.S. President Donald Trump is considering an immediate freeze on $51.4 million in funding for Columbia University over what it describes as a "persistent failure to prevent antisemitic harassment on campus."
A joint task force comprising the Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Education and the General Services Administration announced that a second phase of the review will examine all federal contracts and grants awarded to the university, totaling more than $5 billion.
The move marks the first major action by the federal task force on antisemitism, established by executive order.
