More than 100 American rabbis representing the Jewish communities that have raised the most money for Israel since October 7 sent a letter to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the eve of the summit in Qatar, urging him to "sign the deal. It is the Jewish, Zionist and moral thing to do." The rabbis, who represent the three major streams of Judaism in the United States - Orthodox, Reform and Conservative - call on Netanyahu to do everything to agree to the deal and bring about the release of the 115 abductees. Among the many signatories are the Reformist Angela Buchdahl and the Orthodox Rabbi Chaim Steinmetz from Kehilath Jeshurun in New York. "We cannot begin to heal as the Jewish people both in Israel and in the global diaspora until our brothers and sisters are home," they wrote.
