Pope Leo XIV sent a letter to the American Jewish Committee (AJC), pledging to 'continue strengthening dialogue and cooperation with the Jewish people,' in the spirit of Nostra Aetate - a landmark 1965 document in which the Catholic Church rejected the notion of 'Jewish guilt' and called for reconciliation between religions. The letter was sent to Rabbi Noam Marans, Director of Interreligious Relations at AJC, ahead of the Pope's coronation mass to be held this Sunday in Rome, to which the rabbi has been invited.
