New Israel Fund announces $3 million donation to Gaza: 'We have conscience'

The New Israel Fund announced it will donate more than $3.2 million in humanitarian aid to Gaza residents, including one million shekels from Israeli donors. According to the philanthropic fund, the money will be transferred to World Central Kitchen (WCK) and Clean Shelter, which work to provide food, water, shelter, infrastructure and sanitation. Fund CEO Daniel Sokatch said, "The Israeli government is not allowing Gaza residents enough food, but as people with conscience, we cannot stand by with folded arms." The announcement comes days after the UJA-Federation of New York donated one million dollars to Gaza residents through IsraAID, a move that sparked anger among parts of the Jewish community in the U.S.
