US Justice Department seizes crypto wallets intended to fund Hamas

The US Department of Justice announced that it seized approximately $200,000 worth of crypto wallets that were intended to finance Hamas activities. According to the department’s announcement, the funds were identified as having passed through the organization’s fundraising addresses, as part of a money laundering scheme that transferred more than $1.5 million since October 2024. The crypto accounts were registered in the names of, among others, Palestinians living in Turkey.
