Following exposure of violent harassment: Beitar USA organization to cease operations in New York

|
Beitar USA organization will cease its activities in New York as part of a settlement agreement with Attorney General Letitia James, following an investigation that revealed a pattern of violent harassment against Muslims, Palestinians, Arabs and Jews who expressed different opinions than its own. The organization, founded as the American branch of Zeev Jabotinsky's Beitar movement, is not required to disband but has agreed to vacate the state. According to the attorney general, its members attacked protesters, sent threats, distributed explosive pagers and attacked Jewish academics. Beitar stated that it is a central Zionist organization and described the criticism against it as "antisemitic."
