US: Reform Jews call not to impose death penalty on Israel embassy attacker

The Reform Movement in the United States has called on the American Justice Department not to impose the death penalty on Elias Rodriguez, who is charged with murdering Israeli embassy employees Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim in Washington DC.
The organization wrote to Attorney General Pam Bondi that "the death penalty is a stain on our culture and on our religious conscience," emphasizing that Rodriguez - who shouted "Free Palestine" after killing the two outside the Jewish Museum in the U.S. capital in May - should be punished but execution should be avoided.
