U.S. President Donald Trump signed economic and security agreements in Qatar totaling at least $1.2 trillion. Security deals worth approximately $3 billion also were signed. The centerpiece is Qatar's purchase of Raytheon's FS-LIDS drone interceptor system, making Qatar the first country outside the U.S. to acquire it, along with General Atomics MQ-9B unmanned aerial vehicles with advanced surveillance, strike and intelligence gathering capabilities. Additionally, a declaration of intent was signed for future security cooperation worth over $38 billion, including expansion of the American Al Udeid base in the emirate and development of air and naval defense.
