Collage AI acquires Israeli EdTech startup StudyWise to expand AI-powered assessment platform

US-backed EdTech firm plans to expand into the American market with StudyWise’s AI platform for personalized assessments, as the Israeli startup’s founding team takes on key leadership roles and joins forces to scale development and global reach

U.S.-based Collage AI has acquired Israeli startup StudyWise, a rapidly growing education technology company that developed an AI-driven platform to help educators create, manage and evaluate assignments and exams. The acquisition aims to strengthen Collage AI’s position in the EdTech space, particularly as it prepares to launch pilot programs in the U.S.
Under the deal, StudyWise’s founding team will join Collage AI in key management roles, helping to lead platform development and implementation. The combined company will expand its team, hire additional developers and scale operations across U.S. higher education institutions. Collage AI is backed by Morningside, a Cambridge, Massachusetts-based venture capital firm with a strong presence in the American academic ecosystem.

The joint platform seeks to bridge the gap between higher education and the workforce using artificial intelligence. It enables lecturers and teaching assistants to generate personalized exams and assignments, automate grading of open-ended responses, detect knowledge gaps and support students in their academic growth and career development. The system also allows educators to spend more time on mentorship and quality teaching, while integrating seamlessly with existing Learning Management Systems (LMS).
Founded in mid-2024 by Ori Nurieli (CEO), Chen Berger (COO and CRO), and Guy Aronson (CTO), StudyWise was born out of a growing awareness of global learning gaps and the rapid evolution of the job market in the age of AI. Operating entirely bootstrapped, the company has gained more than 150,000 users worldwide in under a year, partnering with educational institutions across multiple regions and languages.
StudyWise’s clients include ORT Israel, The Academic College of Tel Aviv–Yaffo, and pilot collaborations with international universities such as the University of Turin, schools in the U.S., and distribution partners in Southeast Asia. The company has also partnered with Microsoft Education and the Center for Educational Technology (CET), and participated in accelerators like MindCET, 8200 EISP, and Meta AI.

Its business model is based on active users—students, educators, and institutions—allowing for flexible, scalable pricing to match institutional needs. The platform offers full visibility into student performance and learning outcomes, enabling personalized educational pathways.
“Since founding the company, we’ve experienced rapid growth thanks to a product that meets real market needs, strong word-of-mouth traction, and intensive use of AI to accelerate our development processes,” said CEO Ori Nurieli. “The rapidly growing EdTech field offers advanced technologies for personalized, remote, and hybrid learning. Innovative AI tools enable digital and flexible education, rich content creation, assessment and adaptive learning experiences supported by analytics for more effective learning. Joining Collage AI and the Morningside family, who bring deep experience and strong ties across the U.S. academic landscape, will significantly accelerate our platform’s development and market expansion.”
