Buildots, an Israeli company specializing in AI-powered construction management, announced Thursday it has acquired workforce and safety management platform Genda, in a move aimed at unifying productivity data in the construction sector.
The acquisition marks a major step in Buildots’ long-term vision to connect real-time insights about site progress and labor activity—an integration that has not yet been achieved in an automated, scalable form across the industry.
Construction projects often suffer from fragmented or missing data on both workforce deployment and site progress, leaving teams with limited visibility and slow response times. Buildots’ platform already delivers analytics on pace and delay risks, but executives say incorporating Genda’s workforce intelligence will offer a more complete picture of jobsite productivity.
“This acquisition represents the next milestone on the industry’s journey toward operational excellence,” said Roy Danon, co-founder and CEO of Buildots. “No one has yet achieved a full understanding of construction productivity, so by bringing Genda’s data into our platform, Buildots is once again breaking new ground.”
Founded in 2019, Genda provides real-time visibility into labor, equipment and materials on construction sites. The company’s technology automates workforce tracking and helps contractors validate tasks, manage delays, and reduce insurance and risk costs. Its clients include major U.S. firms such as DPR Construction, Hensel Phelps, Clark Construction, JE Dunn and ANDRES Construction.
Genda CEO and founder Erez Dror will continue to lead operations from the company’s base in Austin, Texas. Over time, Buildots plans to expand Genda’s product capabilities through increased investment and global reach.
Buildots, which has deployed its AI and computer vision tools on large-scale construction sites across North America and EMEA, says the acquisition will allow contractors to understand how labor and progress intersect—and which measures are most effective in reducing delays.
Tal Morgenstern, a partner at Lightspeed Venture Partners and Buildots board member, called the acquisition a breakthrough: “By combining Buildots’ progress insights with Genda’s workforce intelligence, we’re set to create the world’s first ‘foundation model’ for construction and the physical world.”
Genda is backed by investors including S3 Ventures, TenOneTen, ICI Funds and Jibe Ventures.
“We founded Genda out of frustration with the lack of solutions to everyday construction challenges,” said Dror. “Now, as part of Buildots, we’ll shine a light on productivity in new ways—helping contractors react faster and plan smarter.”
