The company has recently undergone changes both in its workforce and management ranks, and the reorganization comes after changes at the top. At the end of March 2026, Shimie Hortig became president and CEO of Amdocs after serving as president of the company’s Americas group. Hortig replaced Shuky Sheffer, who stepped down as CEO after about eight years.
Over the past five years, Amdocs has carried out several rounds of layoffs. In 2023, the company laid off about 2,700 employees in two rounds, about 12% of them in Israel. In the first round, about 700 employees were laid off, including about 100 in Israel; in the second, about 2,000 employees were laid off, including about 200 in Israel. In 2024, the company laid off more than 1,500 employees.
The reports of Amdocs layoffs come on the same day that Wix founder, partner and CEO Avishai Abrahami confirmed that the company will lay off 20% of its workforce, about 1,000 employees, in the largest round of cuts in the Israeli company’s history.
