A day before his semi-finals performance at the Eurovision Song Contest in Turin, Israeli contestant Michael Ben David proposed to his boyfriend of four years on Wednesday.

    Ben David and partner Roee Ram have been together for the past four years. The proposal, strategically timed, has caught the attention of the public and will have the international viewers smitten during his upcoming performance.
    "In the most exciting time of my life where I'm representing my country on the biggest stage in Europe, I fulfilled another dream and asked the love of my life to marry me," Ben David said. "I'm lucky."

    The flamboyant singer, who secured his ticket to the prestigious singing contest after winning the Israeli version of the X-Factor reality competition, is set to hit the big stage on Thursday with his explosive pop single I.M.
    The first round of the contest's semi-final kicked off Tuesday evening and saw Switzerland, Armenia, Iceland, Lithuania, Portugal, Norway, Greece, Ukraine, Moldova, and the Netherlands all book a berth in Saturday's final.
