Matan Hassan is the undercover officer known as M.: The singer and soldier has decided to reveal his identity, ending his reserve service in the undercover unit. However, representatives for Hassan said he has found a way to continue serving in a combat role despite the exposure.
Hassan, 27, is single and lives in Tirat Yehuda. He gained public attention after performing a song during the war and became one of the most intriguing names in Israel’s music industry, with hits such as “I’m Coming Back” and “Be a Human Being.” The concealment of his identity drew significant interest, and now he has decided to reveal himself.

According to Border Police officials, Hassan served in the reserves in the undercover unit and could have continued serving had he become famous only as a singer, without the public knowing his role in the service. But Hassan’s case is different from many others because the public was first exposed to him as an undercover officer.
