After numerous delays and quite a bit of drama, on Sunday, Israel's entry "Hurricane," which will be performed by Eden Golan, Israel's representative at the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Malmo, Sweden, in May, was finally revealed.

The unveiling of the song, done in a special broadcast on Channel 11, Israel's public broadcaster, comes after a turmoil that lasted several weeks.
There were concerns that the European Broadcasting Union would disqualify the Israeli song due to its "political lyrics." Following the threat and diplomatic attempts to resolve the crisis, the broadcasting corporation agreed to change the song from its original version, "October Rain."
"Hurricane," which revolves around a young woman overcoming a personal crisis, is based on the original composition. "This is a different and challenging year for us, and we are dealing with things we haven't dealt with in previous years," said Israel's representative, Eden Alene. "It's more important than ever for me to represent my country with honor, and if that means I'll work the hardest, I'll do it knowing that I did everything I could from my side."
Even the exposure of the song didn't go smoothly, as it was leaked on social media by pro-Palestinian activists who posted it along with anti-Israeli messages. Attempts were made by the corporation to remove the pirated posts but without success.
