The hit Israeli series is currently shooting its fifth season in part in Gaza border communities. Earlier this month, scenes for a separate new series, "Merkhav Mugan" (“Protected Space”), were also filmed in the area—some of which depict a reenactment of the deadly October 7 terror attacks.

During Sunday’s "Fauda" shoot in the southern moshav of Bitkha, actors were seen driving white pickup trucks resembling the ones used in Hamas’ deadly assault that Saturday morning, along with staged police vehicles.

Some local residents have voiced opposition to filming such scenes in the area, saying it brings back traumatic memories and reflects a lack of sensitivity. However, the production teams reportedly made efforts to notify communities in advance.

In addition to filming near the Gaza border, the upcoming season of "Fauda" is being shot at several other locations across Israel, with the cast and crew also expected to travel abroad for part of the production. The new season is likely to air by the end of this year or early next year.
