A new international song is bringing together voices representing 17 countries and cultures with a message of solidarity with Israel and the Jewish people as the third anniversary of the Oct. 7 attack approaches.
Mike Evans, founder of Friends of Zion, created and produced “The Whole World Sings Together,” a song and music video featuring voices representing communities from the United States, Israel, China, India, Brazil, the Democratic Republic of Congo, France, Hungary, Iran, Yemen, Germany, Argentina, South Korea, Britain, Italy, Russia and Mexico.
The project seeks to bring together people from different cultures, languages and backgrounds around a central message: The Jewish people are not alone.
Organizers are inviting people around the world to listen to the song and sing along Oct. 7, creating what they hope will become a global chorus of remembrance, solidarity and hope on the anniversary of the Hamas-led attack on southern Israel.
The project was inspired by “We Are the World,” the 1985 charity single written by Lionel Richie and Michael Jackson and produced by Quincy Jones. Recorded by more than 40 prominent American artists as USA for Africa, the song became an international symbol of collective action to raise money for famine relief in Africa.
Evans said he hopes music can again bring people together around a cause he believes must not be forgotten.
“In 1985, the world sang together for Africa. Now, the world must sing together for the Jewish people,” Evans said. “October 7 cannot become another date that fades from memory. We will remember the lives that were taken, the families that were shattered, the hostages who suffered, and the people who continue to carry wounds the world cannot see.”
One song, a global chorus
At the heart of “The Whole World Sings Together” is the idea that people from different backgrounds can come together through music and deliver a shared message.

The lyrics focus on solidarity, recovery and hope, promising to “walk beside you always” and looking toward a future emerging “from the ashes.”
The song features voices representing communities across North and South America, Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Organizers describe its message as one of remembrance over forgetting, solidarity over silence and hope over despair.
World invited to sing together on Oct. 7
Evans and Friends of Zion are inviting people around the world to watch and share the music video and sing along Oct. 7.
The goal, organizers said, is to create a moment in which millions of people, wherever they are, can join the same song in remembrance of the Oct. 7 attack and in solidarity with Israel and Jewish communities around the world.
The project’s message is summed up by its organizers as: “One song. Seventeen countries. One global chorus.”
