One of television’s most iconic fictional coffee shops, Central Perk from the hit series Friends, has come to life in Tel Aviv — albeit temporarily and in pop-up form.
The Friends pop-up shop and merchandise store opened Monday at Azrieli Sarona Mall in partnership with Tnuva Alternative. It recreates the beloved show’s atmosphere with signature dishes, the famous orange couch and a wide range of branded souvenirs, including t-shirts, mugs, dolls, books, puzzles and more.

Visitors entering the 500-square-meter space are greeted by the show’s beloved theme song, “I’ll Be There For You,” and quickly find themselves amid long lines of fans eager to pose on the replica couch and photograph iconic set pieces, such as Monica’s purple door, the yellow picture frame and the fountain with umbrellas from the opening credits.
The merch section offers an extensive collection of Friends-themed items, including branded socks, candles, aprons and even a cookbook featuring recipes inspired by the series. Prices range from 60 to 200 shekels.

The café menu features dishes inspired by memorable food moments from the show: Chandler’s cheesecake, Phoebe’s grandmother’s chocolate chip cookies, Rachel’s trifle-inspired truffle (without the infamous meat) and other themed pastries — all prepared under Biscotti Patisserie’s management.

Although the experience is a nostalgic treat for fans, the popularity of the pop-up leads to crowded conditions and long lines, slightly affecting the atmosphere. However, for devoted viewers, the chance to immerse themselves in the Friends universe makes the wait worthwhile.
The pop-up is open Sunday through Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free but requires advance reservation.
