After more than a decade together, and a year and a half after their engagement, it finally happened: Channel 13 U.S. correspondent Neria Kraus, 32, and her partner, author and neuroscientist Iddo Gefen, 33, got married Wednesday evening.
Kraus and Gefen, who became engaged in December 2024 during a romantic vacation in Italy, first met during a post-army trip to Cuba. The rest, as they say, is history.
Three years ago, the couple moved to New York after Kraus was appointed Channel 13’s correspondent in the United States and at the White House. Gefen followed her there and was accepted at the last minute to a neuroscience research lab at Columbia University.
On Tuesday, Kraus shared the personal and moving blessing she received from none other than U.S. President Donald Trump, who may not have made it to the wedding but did not forget to send his congratulations.
“Neria, have a great wedding and a great life. Israel is in good hands! Please give my regards to your future husband. He already won by having you,” Trump said in the message.
The wedding was held in Jaffa, with the couple making sure the ceremony took place exactly at sunset. The event brought out Kraus’ friends and colleagues from the news company, as well as guests from rival channels, who took the evening off to celebrate with the newlyweds.
The wedding drew media figures, fellow journalists, television personalities and close friends of the couple, who came to celebrate with the newlyweds.
Kraus wore a gown by Kontento, with styling by Itay Bezaleli.
