Gorbenko's feat comes fresh on the heels of her triumphant outing in the 50-meter breaststroke final on Friday, which made her the first-ever Israeli to win gold in the prestigious competition.
Gorbenko will later try to qualify for another World Championships final, this time in the 100-meter breaststroke category after she qualified for the half-finals stage Sunday morning, stopping the clock at 1:05.47 minutes and finishing ninth in the qualifiers.
Last month, Gorbenko came first in the 2021 European Short Course Swimming Championships in the 200-meter individual medley.
She also made history earlier this year when she became the first female Israeli swimmer to advance to an Olympic final, but eventually finished in eighth place in the 100-meter backstroke final.

In May, Gorbenko became the first female Israeli athlete to break the one-minute mark, setting a new record in Budapest at the European Championships and beating her own personal best in the process.
Gorbenko also advanced to the semifinals after placing fourth in the women's 200-meter individual medley.
