Singer Idan Amedi reunited Saturday night with the combat medic who saved his life after he was seriously wounded in Gaza, in an emotional meeting during a concert at Jerusalem’s Sultan’s Pool amphitheater.
The encounter took place during Amedi’s performance at the annual Hutzot Hayotzer arts festival, before thousands of fans. Midway through the show, an audience member informed Amedi that Tuvia, the medic who had treated him on the battlefield, was sitting in the crowd.

Amedi immediately walked over and publicly thanked him. “I love you,” Amedi said, embracing the medic. “I will never be able to thank you enough. Let me just give you a hug. Thank you, thank you.” The two shared a long embrace as the audience cheered.
Amedi, 36, is one of Israel’s most popular singer-songwriters and a reserve soldier in a combat engineering unit. He was severely wounded while serving in Gaza earlier in the war and underwent months of rehabilitation before resuming his music career.
Earlier this year, he returned to the stage for a winter tour and has since announced upcoming large-scale concerts, including shows at Tel Aviv’s Yarkon Park.
