The 43-year-old actress arrived Sunday at the premiere of her new film, The End of Oak Street, wearing low-rise jeans and a loose, asymmetrical top that left her pregnant belly exposed.

But the photos from the event prompted more than just comments about her look. Alongside the fashion criticism, comments began popping up online claiming that the star’s belly looked “fake” and even questioning whether she was actually pregnant.
Hathaway didn’t issue a lengthy statement, get into arguments in the comments or feel the need to provide proof. Instead, she posted a video from the makeup chair as she was getting ready for the premiere, along with a brief caption that settled the matter for her: “Fake hair, real bump.”

Her response quickly drew support from fans, many of whom wondered why people feel entitled to scrutinize the body of a pregnant woman in the first place. “Since when is it considered ‘normal’ to make negative comments about a pregnant woman’s belly or appearance? Anne, you look amazing,” one commenter wrote. Another fan added: “Love that you showed off your beautiful belly.”
