Bachelor of the week: 'Don’t date me just for free Botox'

Yaniv Moadim Lesimcha, 39, runs a medical aesthetics clinic but refuses to date patients, says women who raise free treatments on dates are a turnoff and is searching for a caring partner with whom to build a family

“I’ve dated women who thought they could use our acquaintance to get free beauty treatments from me. Any woman familiar with aesthetics and injections knows how much these treatments cost. But it’s a turnoff when a woman sits with me on a date and starts talking about treatments for herself at my clinic, or asks whether we’re looking for models.
"It’s also a red flag because it’s no secret that people in this field earn very well and enjoy a comfortable lifestyle.
“I know that some women, especially in the Instagram age, are drawn to a luxurious, showy lifestyle. That’s something I personally find very off-putting. I’m not into that flashy world, and I’m less attracted to women who are focused on it," says Dr. Yaniv Moadim Lesimcha, 39, from Bat Yam.

Moadim Lesimcha trained as a dentist and owns a private medical aesthetics clinic specializing in anti-aging treatments. His work brings him into contact with many women, but he insists on keeping business and pleasure completely separate.
“A potential patient or a client will not become part of my personal life,” he said. “I prefer to meet someone outside the clinic. She can be someone working in medical aesthetics or the beauty industry, but she could just as easily come from an entirely different field.
“I’ve been advised more than once not to say what I do for a living, but I don’t hide who I am, and I don’t want to,” he said. “I achieved what I have through persistence and hard work.”
He still has professional ambitions, but says relationships and family now matter just as much. “I can work from morning until night, but if I don’t have someone to share everything I’ve earned with, it’s worth nothing.”

So how do you meet women? “Through dating apps or through friends, and when I go out to cafés or small bars, I’ll approach women and try to strike up a conversation. A lot of women are surprised by that and tell me they ‘salute’ me for making the effort and like the personal approach.
“I also get messages through social media, but if someone starts with a business question like, ‘How much do three areas of Botox cost?’ and then follows it with, ‘Are you single?’ I’m not interested. I make an effort to meet someone, but ultimately I believe it’s all in God’s hands, who guides us toward becoming whole within ourselves, and only then brings you together with your other half.”
Given your profession, is it important to you that your partner gets beauty treatments? “It does spill over into my personal life because I can immediately tell whether a woman has had treatments or not. But every woman is beautiful in her own way. In general, I don’t like an overly done look, but I’m also not drawn to a completely natural, no-makeup look.”

“I think a woman should be self-aware, and I’d be happy with someone who takes care of herself in terms of appearance and a healthy lifestyle. Grooming isn’t a dirty word. I also know how to take care of myself, look good and be the best version of myself.”

‘The goal is to marry and stay married’

Outside work, Moadim Lesimcha enjoys the sea, traveling abroad, discovering new places and collecting experiences. He watches motivational podcasts and videos, reads books on personal and professional development and especially enjoys cooking and hosting family and friends. He also tries to maintain a healthy lifestyle centered on nutrition and exercise.
What are you looking for in a partner? “I’m very open-minded because I know everyone has her own path. I’m a practical engineer in industrial engineering and management and I have a degree in economics, but those things aren’t necessarily relevant to my life, so I’m not looking for degrees or titles. What matters most is finding someone I enjoy being with, someone I can grow and succeed alongside. I’m looking for my best friend, someone who will also be my partner and the person I want to grow old with.
“I want a woman who is caring, attentive and communicative, and I want us to be able to talk openly about the bad just as much as the good. I’d love someone who challenges me intellectually, loves life and wants to make the most of it. It’s also important to me that she has strong values when it comes to home, partnership, love, giving and trust.”

“She has to understand that I work mostly with women and may get a call from a patient even at 11 p.m. I also attend conferences abroad and sometimes have to travel alone for several days or even weeks, and she needs to understand that this is part of my job.
“When I have a partner, I’d want her to come with me. And once I’m a husband and father, I believe I’ll travel less, and I hope that part of my life will change.”
Is that why your previous relationships never led to marriage? “I don’t think so. I’ve had long-term relationships, and they never ended badly or in fights but with a deep understanding that the relationship simply couldn’t continue. I’m a very rational person and tend to operate more from logic than emotion. Maybe when that balance shifts, something will change.
“People say that if you still haven’t married, you must be too picky. But I don’t see it that way. It’s about becoming more precise about who you are and the choices you make. I could have married several times in my life, but the point is to get married and stay married, not to get married and then get divorced.”
What would you say is your biggest flaw? “I’m a perfectionist, and I have a hard time delegating.”
What does love mean to you? “Commitment, building trust, sharing values and nurturing a relationship over time.”

Do you believe in love at first sight? “No, because that’s mainly physical attraction. Love is built over time and through getting to know someone.”
When was the last time your heart was broken? “When I was 17, during a relationship with my high school sweetheart.”
What have you learned about yourself from relationships? “Healthy communication has to be free of ego. In the past, my ego once led me to stop speaking to my partner for three days. That wouldn’t happen today.”
What is the most important element in a relationship? “Trust. Even 1% of distrust is enough to make a relationship impossible.”
What do you find hurtful? “When people talk behind my back.”
Do you have a deal breaker? “Smoking. I quit a year and a half ago.”
What age range are you looking for? “28 to 36.”
Would you consider dating a divorced woman, with or without children? “I’m looking for a single woman without children because I’m a Kohen.”
What was your worst date? “I met a woman through an app who looked nothing like her profile pictures. It was surreal sitting there for an entire hour with what felt like a completely different person before we went our separate ways.”
Describe your perfect date. “Somewhere intimate and quiet, with a cocktail, excellent food and a deep, flowing conversation. Time flies without either of us noticing, and neither of us wants the evening to end.”

Should a man pay on the first date? “Of course! I don’t understand men who ask to split the bill. I find it less masculine.”
What do you do in your free time? “I like having new experiences abroad. There are lots of destinations I’ve set my sights on visiting. Next up: Vietnam.”
What’s your favorite place, and why? “My kitchen.”
What makes you laugh? “My brother. When I want to laugh so hard my stomach hurts, I go see him.”
When was the last time you cried, and why? “A week ago. One of my patients told me a heartbreaking story about a traumatic experience involving her son.”
How close are you to your family? “I need to be close to them, join them for Shabbat dinners and keep in touch in our family WhatsApp group.”
What were you in a past life? “A master sushi chef in Japan.”
What was the last series you binge-watched? “I don’t have time for series. I need a good partner to keep me committed to one.”
What kind of music do you listen to? “Mizrahi music and live performances.”
Tell me something no one knows about you. “I had long hair until I was 20.”
How would your friends describe you? “Someone who knows how to have deep conversations and give good advice.”
What do you do on Friday nights? “Family and Friday night dinner.”
So where can someone approach you? “At cafés, restaurants and on social media.”
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? “Happily married with four children, living in a big house.”
