"I want people to get to know me, not Tal from social media, because there's so much more to me than that," she says. "If a man starts talking about my page and seems interested in me because of the videos I've posted, I'll probably rule him out immediately. It raises too many concerns."
"What attracted me to my ex was that he wasn't interested in social media," she recalls. "But eventually, he started trying to control my content, deciding what I could and couldn't post."
"I let him because I was naive and felt pressured by those around me. All my friends were already married, some with children, and I felt like time was running out. I was desperate to settle down and get married, so I kept trying to please him. Eventually, I reached a breaking point and realized I'd lost myself in the process," Says Tal Harush, 28, from Petah Tikva, our bachelorette of the week.
‘On TikTok, I'm playing a character’
Harush is a familiar face on TikTok, but she has never considered herself a celebrity. Alongside creating videos, she works in laser treatments and sales consulting, jobs she says help keep her grounded.
She hopes to pursue acting, open her own laser treatment clinic, and launch a fashion brand. For now, she divides her time between work, making videos, Pilates, beach walks, reading, personal development, and spending time with friends and family.
Her mornings begin with prayer and gratitude. "I wake up and say Modeh Ani, the traditional Jewish morning prayer, ritually wash my hands and say a blessing over my coffee. I put on music and get ready. I'm constantly thanking God for everything I have, and I don't take anything for granted."
People are sometimes surprised to learn that she has an ordinary day job, but Harush considers that important. "I want to build a home and have a family, and I need another steady source of income and financial security."
"On TikTok, I'm playing a character, wearing a kind of mask that gets views. People think I'm extremely confident, that everything comes easily to me and that I just say and do whatever I want. But that's not true."
"As a child, I was shy, withdrawn and eager to please. I was afraid to express an opinion. The camera helped me develop confidence and became a kind of friend. I'm a cheerful, sensitive and sociable person, and I want people to really know me. But it's very difficult for me to open up because I've been hurt by people around me, especially people in this industry."
Women or men?
"Both. I've dated people from social media before, and I've been in a relationship that played out publicly. But I never felt the men were genuinely interested in me. It seemed like they were more interested in the views and attention the relationship could bring them. That's why I'm now looking for someone who isn't in the public eye and has no interest in that world. I want a man who loves me for who I am, not for my followers. I want someone who's focused on building a home and family, not chasing views."
"I actually never shared my serious relationships online. There's a saying that blessings rest on what is hidden from the eye. When you expose personal things, people feel entitled to judge and criticize you.
"Both of my serious relationships ended the same way. I was broken up with out of the blue, without any warning. Those experiences left me with a fear of abandonment."
How did you cope?
"After the breakup, I felt like I couldn't breathe. I took it really hard, so I flew to New York to visit the resting place of the Lubavitcher Rebbe. I've been growing stronger in my faith, and I've started wearing a skirt once a week, which makes me feel good. That's why I need to find a man who has a connection to Judaism and puts on tefillin every morning. I've already bought my future husband a tallit, a Jewish prayer shawl, because it's considered a spiritual practice for finding a match."
What else matters to you in a man?
"I'm looking for a man who adores me, who sees my heart, respects and appreciates me, pursues me and makes an effort, and understands what he has. In past relationships, I didn't feel appreciated and was taken for granted. I was always the one taking the lead, and now I want someone I can lean on. I'm looking for my soulmate and a relationship built on communication, mutual respect, understanding and acceptance, because eventually the romance fades, but the friendship remains.
"Physical attraction is important to me, as is finding a hardworking, motivated man who takes initiative, because I'm driven and proactive myself. Above all, I want to be the most beautiful woman in his eyes. I want someone loyal, with good character and strong values. Most importantly, he has to be serious about building a home and starting a family. I used to want a man who gave me butterflies and swept me up in a whirlwind of excitement. Now I'm looking for someone who brings me peace of mind, stability and a sense of security."
