Israel wins gold, silver at European Cup rhythmic gymnastics event

Daniela Munits won two gold medals in Baku, while the national group team took silver in Cross Battle and gold in the five balls routine

Israel’s rhythmic gymnastics delegation won several medals at the European Cup in Baku, led by Daniela Munits’ gold medal in the Cross Battle event and a silver medal for the national group team.
Munits, who competes for Maccabi Makefet Petah Tikva, posted the best result in the Cross Battle stage and finished at the top of the podium. She recorded four wins on the way to the title, beating Maria Borisova in ball with a score of 27.600, Italy’s Tara Dragas in hoop with 28.450, Sofia Raffaeli in clubs with 29.400 and Ukraine’s Taisiia Onofriichuk in the final.

Munits also won gold in the clubs final, completing a standout competition.
The national group team also delivered a strong performance, winning silver in the Cross Battle stage. The team opened with a win over Ukraine in the five balls routine, scoring 27.800, but lost to Bulgaria in the next stage in the mixed routine by three-tenths of a point and finished second.
The team includes Agam Gev of Hapoel Ramat Eliyahu Rishon Lezion, Arina Gvozdecki of Maccabi Ashdod, Abigail Shvud of Hapoel Ramat Eliyahu Rishon Lezion, Taya Sokolenko of Maccabi Tel Aviv, Sofia Prezhin of Maccabi Makefet Petah Tikva and Keren Sobol of Ironi Holon.

The coaching staff includes Ayelet Zussman, Natalia Stepanova and Ella Samofalov, with Alona Koshevatskiy as assistant coach and Natasha Asmolov as team manager.
Overall, Israel finished the competition with several achievements, including group gold in the five balls routine, two gold medals for Munits and two bronze medals for the junior teams.
