No batteries, no plugs: Wiliot wants everyday products to start talking

Tiny battery-free IoT Pixels are Wiliot’s bet on a more visible supply chain, attaching digital intelligence to products and packaging; its founders came from Wilocity, and SoftBank Vision Fund 2 later led a $200 million Series C

The Internet of Things has long been limited by the cost and maintenance of batteries. Wiliot developed tiny self-powered tags, called IoT Pixels, that can attach to products or packaging, sense physical and environmental conditions, and send data to the Wiliot Cloud. The company positions the technology as a way to make supply chains more visible at item level.
