Despite the complex security situation and the widening range of rocket fire toward Eilat, Israelis appear determined to stick to their holiday routine. Hotels in the southern resort city are already nearing full occupancy, and it is becoming difficult to find available rooms for Seder night on Passover. Those who did not book in advance will likely have to settle for arriving a day or two before the holiday to secure a spot.
The high demand is largely driven by limited alternatives: fighting continues in the north, central Israel and Jerusalem remain under constant threat, and Ben Gurion Airport is operating on a reduced schedule, complicating travel abroad. Concerns about disruptions at crossings to Sinai and Egypt have also made Eilat the most viable and safest option for many families.

In the southern city, efforts are being made to maintain routine. Restaurants, cafes and malls are operating as usual, with attention to proximity to protected spaces. Ultimately, despite the challenges, Eilat remains the primary getaway for the upcoming Passover holiday.
“The pace of bookings for the Seder night and the holiday is unprecedented, especially among extended families. Availability is rapidly running out,” Anat Aharon, deputy CEO of the Brown Hotels chain (Israel Canada Group), told Ynet.
Liron Dalal-Arad, sales manager for Africa Israel Hotels, which operates brands including VERT, Crowne Plaza, Poli and Indigo, said Israelis are not going to give up their holiday break. “Ahead of Passover we are seeing a clear rise in demand for vacations in Israel, with an emphasis on ‘blue-and-white’ holidays," she said. "Even before the war, demand for Passover was very high across all our hotels, but since the fighting began — with no end in sight — and as the holiday approaches, more and more Israelis prefer to vacation in Israel rather than give up a holiday break.”
