The Brown Beach Resort in Chalkida, Greece, has officially become a kosher resort, Israel-Canada Hotels announced Sunday. The change follows the hotel group’s recent acquisition of Brown Hotels' operations in Greece.
The resort now serves strictly kosher meals under the supervision of Rabbi Avraham Dov Charlap, with separate dairy and meat kitchens, a permanent kashrut supervisor and an active synagogue with a Torah scroll for guests.
Chalkida, located on the northern tip of the island of Evia and connected to mainland Greece by bridge, is about an hour’s drive from Athens. The 119-room resort underwent a full renovation two years ago and is now repositioning itself to cater to observant Jewish travelers.
Guests can enjoy meat-based Mediterranean-style meals in the hotel’s dining room, dairy options and drinks at the poolside bar and kosher meat snacks at the beachfront snack bar. The resort also features a sea-view pool, spa, fitness center, private beach, soccer field, tennis courts and a kids' club.

In honor of its relaunch, special prices are being offered starting at €144 per couple per night including breakfast and €192 per night for half-board, including over the Shavuot holiday.
Yael Biderman, VP of marketing for Israel-Canada Hotels, said the transformation aims to provide religious and traditional families with a worry-free beach vacation in Greece. “We’re excited to open our doors to new audiences and provide kosher hospitality in this beautiful setting,” she said.
The network also noted that Chalkida is home to one of Greece’s oldest synagogues, reflecting a rich Jewish heritage. Families can also visit a nearby water park in Eretria and witness the unique tidal phenomenon in the Euripus Strait.
