More international airlines are expected to resume service to Israel after the European Aviation Authority lifted all flight restrictions to the country, Israel’s Transportation Ministry said Sunday.
The announcement comes two weeks after the end of the brief war with Iran and follows the easing of travel advisories by several Western governments. Over the past week, the United States lowered its travel warning for Israel from Level 4, the highest level, to Level 3. The British Foreign Office also removed its travel warning, marking Israel in green on its advisory map — a return to the status that existed prior to the conflict.
Transportation Minister Miri Regev said the move is “an important step that will immediately impact major airlines that have not resumed operations to Israel since Operation Rising Lion and the missile fire from Iran.”

“Now, they can return to flying here and restore Israel to full strength on the global aviation map,” she said.
The Transportation Ministry did not specify which airlines are expected to return or when flights will resume. Many international carriers had suspended operations during the hostilities with Iran, which included large-scale missile and drone attacks.
