Israeli carrier Israir announced Sunday that it will begin flights this summer to two new Italian destinations, Bari and Bologna. To mark the occasion, the airline staged an unusual in‑flight fashion show during a Rome‑bound flight.

Israir teamed up with Israeli fashion designer Yaron Minkowski, who created a special collection inspired by the airline’s cabin‑crew uniforms, corporate colors and logo. About half an hour after takeoff from Ben Gurion Airport the aisle of the carrier’s Airbus A320 was transformed into a runway — the first ever fashion show on an Israeli plane — offering passengers what the airline described as a “live and unexpected haute‑fashion experience at 30,000 feet.”

“I’m proud to collaborate with Israir, showcasing Israeli fashion at 30,000 feet,” said Minkowski. “After more than 40 years in the local fashion industry, I see this as a way to strengthen Israeli fashion. Israir turns the world into our runway … this show connects sky, style and Israeli spirit.”
The fashion show marked the official launch of the two new routes, scheduled to begin in May 2026. Once launched, the new flights — twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays — will bring the total number of Italian destinations served by Israir to six, joining their existing flights to Rome, Verona, Naples and Catania.
Ticket prices for the Bari and Bologna routes start at approximately $399 per person, excluding checked baggage and carry‑ons.
The marketing and sales vice president at Israir, Hila Hermolin Ronen, called the fashion show “an innovative, distinctive initiative in Israeli aviation, and we are proud to be the first to surprise our Rome‑bound passengers with such a unique experience.”
