Intense fighting in the Bint Jbeil area of southern Lebanon continued, and three Hezbollah terrorists — including one from the group’s elite Radwan Force unit — surrendered Monday to Givati Brigade reconnaissance unit soldiers during battle, the IDF said Tuesday.
The military said the troops engaged the Hezbollah cell in a close-range battle, moved into contact and opened precise fire at the militants. At the end of the clash, three Hezbollah operatives threw down their weapons and surrendered to the soldiers.

The captives were later transferred for further questioning to Unit 504, the IDF intelligence unit that handles interrogations. “IDF soldiers continue to operate in the area to eliminate threats and maintain the security of the citizens of the State of Israel,” the military said.
The IDF has also continued fighting and airstrikes in other areas of southern Lebanon. On Monday, it struck numerous Hezbollah installations in the village of Aadshit after identifying increased activity by the terrorist group there.
The commander of the 52nd Battalion of the 401st Armored Brigade, identified only as Lt. Col. A. under IDF censorship rules, was seriously wounded Tuesday during operational activity in the Bint Jbeil sector, the military said. He was evacuated by helicopter for treatment at Rambam Health Care Campus in Haifa, and his family was notified. “The circumstances of the incident are under review,” the military said.

During 2024, in fighting in the Gaza Strip, the two previous commanders of the 52nd Battalion were also wounded. In the first incident, the battalion commander was moderately wounded during an encounter with terrorists in the Tel al-Sultan neighborhood of Rafah in southern Gaza. In the second, in which 401st Brigade commander Col. Ehsan Daxa was killed in Jabaliya in northern Gaza, the 52nd Battalion commander was seriously wounded.
Since the start of Operation Roaring Lion, Hezbollah has fired about 130 rockets from the village toward Israeli forces operating in southern Lebanon and toward Israel, particularly the northern town of Kiryat Shmona, the military said. Among the targets struck in Aadshit were Hezbollah weapons depots, rocket launchers and command centers, and Hezbollah operatives were killed there, it said.
