U.S. President Donald Trump said he initially believed the war with Iran would end within three days, even as he now claims U.S. objectives are “nearing completion” and vows to “finish the job.”
“That was my prediction, but it turned out…” Trump said, before shifting topics and adding, “Do we have the greatest military ever?”

In a separate address earlier Thursday, marking one month since the start of the war, Trump said the United States is “nearing completion” of its military objectives and promised to “finish the job.”
He claimed Iran’s military has been severely weakened, saying its navy is “gone,” its air force “in ruins,” and its missile and drone capabilities “dramatically curtailed.” Trump also said U.S. forces are “systematically dismantling” Iran’s ability to threaten the United States and its allies, including Israel.
At the same time, he signaled a possible drawdown in the coming weeks and called on regional allies to take greater responsibility for securing key shipping routes, even as the war continues to disrupt global oil markets.
