Gigi Hadid and Leonardo DiCaprio's relationship appears to be entering a more serious stage as sources say the model is "smitten" with the Hollywood actor, who is over 20 years her senior.
The couple enjoyed a date at Cipriani in New York earlier this week and attempted to stay incognito, both making sure to leave separately to avoid the paparazzi.
A source who spoke with People magazine said the 27-year-old model is "smitten" and "very much enjoys seeing Leo." The insider also mentioned the 47-year-old actor "is a gentleman and quite romantic, and he values keeping things private."
Hadid has a two-year-old with ex-One Direction singer Zayn Malik, and it seems her maturity as a mom is intriguing to the actor. “He is very understanding about her being a mom and works around her schedule to see her — it’s very sweet,” the source added.
Hadid's family also seems to be fond of DiCaprio, as her sister Bella and her mother Yolanda think he is incredibly talented and all they want is for Hadid to be happy.
The two also share similar beliefs. DiCaprio is an environmental activist who has used his platform to urge people to vote for those who tackle the climate crisis. As for Hadid, she is a humanitarian and advocates for human rights and refugees.
“He wants to be with someone who has the same idea of good causes and political views as he does,” a source previously told PEOPLE.
Hadid, daughter of Palestinian-American real estate multimillionaire Mohamed Hadid, has been waging social media campaigns against Israel, with her sister Bella, who previously accused the Jewish state of ethnic cleansing and genocide, and calling Israelis "a group of settlers who are colonizing Palestine".
Although recently, the model shared a story by Jewish American comedian Amy Schumer with the words "I support my Jewish friends and the Jewish people" in a blue font superimposed over a pitch-black background, so only time will tell what this issue will arouse.
The couple first sparked dating rumors and headlines in September following the news that DiCaprio and Camila Morron split quietly. The two were spotted chatting during the New York Fashion Week party.
