US airline serves kosher meal labeled 'Zionazi' to passenger

JetBlue meal carrying anti-Israeli message prompts outrage from Jewish groups and airlines; case comes after similar one in Spain

Outrage erupted online after StopAntisemitism, a U.S.-based organization combating antisemitism, shared a photo on X of a kosher meal served on a JetBlue flight labeled with the word “zionazi.” The group condemned the incident, saying, “StopAntisemitism is sickened to see a JetBlue passenger receive his kosher meal with ‘zionazi’ written on it.”
“Whomever is responsible for this must be immediately fired - this is 1941 and Jews will NOT put up with this hate,” it added. Details about the flight or the timing remain unclear. Ynet reached out to StopAntisemitism and JetBlue for further information, but the airline has yet to respond.

A similar incident took place days earlier on an Iberia Airlines flight from Buenos Aires to Madrid, where a Jewish passenger discovered “Free Palestine” written on their kosher meal tray. Other Jewish passengers on the same flight reported trays marked with the initials "FP".
The Delegation of Argentine Jewish Associations (DAIA), which fights antisemitism in Argentina, exposed the incident on X, sharing a photo of the defaced tray. “DAIA condemns this discriminatory act and has demanded explanations and immediate action from aviation authorities,” the organization said.

Iberia responded to Ynet’s inquiry, acknowledging that several passengers who ordered kosher meals reported handwritten pro-Palestinian messages on their trays. “Our crew documented the incident and assisted affected passengers,” the airline said.

“The flight manager personally apologized on behalf of Iberia. We are conducting a thorough investigation, both internally and with our catering suppliers, to understand what happened and take appropriate measures.” Iberia firmly rejected all forms of discrimination and hate, emphasizing that such behavior contradicts the company’s core values of respect and inclusion.
These incidents have heightened concerns about rising antisemitism, particularly in the context of air travel, prompting calls for accountability and stronger measures to protect passengers from targeted harassment.
