You can read about aliyah. You can hear the statistics. But what does it actually feel like to make Israel home?
Today, ynet Global is launching a new ongoing vlog series, created in partnership with Nefesh B'Nefesh, following three North Americans as they make aliyah. Over the coming weeks, viewers will experience the journey alongside them, from emotional farewells and final preparations to finding apartments, navigating paperwork, learning Hebrew and first moments as Israelis, the series offers an intimate look at aliyah as it unfolds, one vlog at a time.
From Toronto, Danielle Adessky is leaving behind the city she has always called home to begin a new chapter in Tel Aviv. A social media marketer and content creator, Danielle shares the reality of closing one chapter while opening another, from packing up her home and saying goodbye to family and friends to discovering what everyday life as an Olah Hadasha really looks like.

For Arielle Sabol, aliyah is a family story — one of building a future rooted in belonging with her husband Alex and their daughters, Romi and baby Libi. Trading life in Brooklyn for a new chapter in Israel, the family is documenting the emotional process of preparing for the move with two young children, finding schools, and settling into their new city. Their story is driven by the hope of giving their daughters the opportunity to grow up in a place where Jewish identity is part of everyday life.

Daniel Bielak, who spent years building a successful consulting career in Canada, realized something was missing. After reconnecting with his Jewish identity and spending months studying in Israel, he decided there was nowhere else he wanted to build his future. Having traveled to 24 countries, Daniel says Israel offers a lifestyle unlike anywhere else, a place where entrepreneurial ambition meets vibrant cafés, close-knit communities, Jewish life and a deep connection to the land. As he prepares to begin an MBA at Tel Aviv University, viewers will see Israel through the eyes of someone eager to finally call it home.

No two aliyah stories are ever the same. But every journey is filled with moments of excitement, doubt, resilience and discovery. With support from Nefesh B'Nefesh in partnership with Israel’s Ministry of Aliyah and Integration, the Jewish Agency for Israel, Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael, and Jewish National Fund-USA, nearly 100,000 North Americans have made aliyah to Israel over the past two decades. This series offers a rare window into what that experience actually looks and feels like.
Watch Episode 1 now and join Danielle, Arielle, and Daniel as their aliyah journey begins.
Return for every new episode as they discover what it really means to build a new life in Israel.
